Introduction to the 7 Chakras - Repeat Session

jacky weeks.jpg

INTRODUCTION TO THE 7 CHAKRAS -REPEAT SESSION
Understanding the anatomy of the Spirit

with Jacqueline Weeks – Certified Yoga Teacher and Usui Reiki Master
SUNDAY, MAY 6TH - 12:30-3PM
( workshop includes a themed gift and a detailed handout on the 7 chakras )

*Space is limited to 15 participants only. Pre-registration required*

(Some physical yoga experience recommended)

The chakra system is a map of our energy body – the subtle counterpart to our physical
body. Energy or “prana” spirals through these 7 gateways of our Spirit. When our energy flow
becomes diminished or blocked by stress, mental or emotional experiences and trauma that
we do not address, our “prana” is unable to flow freely and what we have suppressed on a
cellular level eventually shows up as dis-ease and imbalance in the mental, emotional, physical and spiritual aspects of our lives.

This workshop is geared towards tuning into and stimulating energetic balance in the flow and frequency of these 7 chakras through:

- An opening discussion about our vital energy body

- Restorative (supported), guided meditation to acquaint you with the location, color, body parts and unique behavioral qualities associated with each chakra center

- Asana (physical) practice aimed at opening and channeling energy into all 7 chakras through specific postures infusing bija (seed) sounds, some pranayama (breathing techniques), mudras (hand gestures) and the “spiritual lesson” associated with each chakra

- Restorative healing ceremony to release stuck energy and restore lost energy/power within your body and aura on a deeper level. Some brief Reiki (optional)

- Light-hearted closing ceremony

*This workshop aims to leave you feeling relaxed, more self aware and informed about the importance of nurturing your beautiful energy body

COST: $40 for members and $45 for non-members

2 Hour Free Yoga For Athletes Workshop

On Saturday, September 6th, join us for a workshop on how yoga can complement your crossfit training.  In this workshop, we’ll learn some basics for alignment in the major joints of the body, focusing on increasing range of motion in the shoulders and hips.  In addition, we’ll practice some stretches you can use on your own in order to keep your body open and to help you recover more quickly from workouts.  And, we’ll practice some more advanced poses in order to learn how to use our existing strength (especially in the core and through the trunk of the body) to create greater balance - you might even stand on your head!

Date: Saturday, Sept. 6th

Time: 9:45 am - 11:45 am

No cost, and no special equipment needed (although if you have your own mat, you may want to bring it).

I hope to see you all there!
